Director of the Master
Beatriz González-Cristóbal Poyó is the director of the Master in Luxury & Fashion Business Management at Centro de Estudios Garrigues. She has had a successful career at Bulgari, LVMH, and Hermès, where she held important positions at the international level.
Beatriz González-Cristóbal Poyó received a Bachelor in Economics from Saint Louis University, in Missouri, graduating with honours.
She went on to complete an Executive MBA at IE University and, in 2019, the Digital Business Executive Programme (DIBEX) at ISDI, both in Madrid.
In 1990, she opened the Spanish subsidiary of Italian luxury fashion house Bulgari, holding the position of general manager since then.
In 1997, she joined the Loewe Group as the director of group purchasing, overseeing the definition of strategy and purchasing plans for all distribution subsidiaries of the group, primarily in Europe and Asia.
In 2000, she was appointed general manager of the Hermès subsidiary in Spain and led the company’s expansion in Spain and Portugal.
In 2005, she became the area manager for Europe, responsible for all subsidiaries in Europe and Russia, as well as for the expansion into Qatar, Dubai, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
In 2013, she became the first female executive vice president of the Hermès International Group, taking on responsibility for all of the group’s subsidiaries and commercial expansion, including joint-ventures.
She became a member of the Executive Committee and held positions as chair or member of the board in twenty Hermès International subsidiaries.
Since 2014, she has split her time between academic activities and leadership positions. The latter include roles as member of the board of directors at Italian hotel group Starhotels and Spanish jewellery group Tous, where she is chair of the Appointments & Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit & Compliance Committee and the Product & Style Committee.
Beatriz González-Cristóbal Poyó is a trustee of the Spanish Fashion Academy Foundation. She also sits on the board of directors of Círculo Fortuny, an association that is part of the European Cultural and Creative Industries Alliance (ECCIA) and a leading advocate for the interests of high-end industry at the European level.
She has sat on the jury of several international competitions, including the Madrid Capital de Moda Awards of the Madrid City Council and the IED Design Awards.
