Best practice guide for the inclusion of people with disabilities in organisations
Centro de Estudios Garrigues, in partnership with CERMI, has produced a best practice guide for the inclusion of people with disabilities in organisations
Within the framework of a partnership agreement with the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (CERMI) and Fundación Derecho y Discapacidad, Centro de Estudios Garrigues has produced a best practice guide for the inclusion of people with disabilities in organisations. The guide is intended as a tool for companies wishing to implement inclusive strategies for this aspect of human diversity.
Elisa López, a professor at Centro de Estudios Garrigues, coordinated the production of the guide with the support of a group of students from various master’s programmes engaged with the issue of disability.
The guide seeks to promote the integration of people with disabilities in proper and dignified jobs, enabling companies and organisations to improve inclusion and people with disabilities to develop their professional projects in environments that welcome diversity and in which their participation is considered an asset.
After reviewing the current social and professional situation of people with disabilities in Spain, the guide provides clear guidelines for managing diversity in organisations. The aim is to help them achieve the highest levels of inclusion.
In addition to this guide, the partnership established in 2020/21 between Centro de Estudios Garrigues, CERMI, and Fundación Derecho y Discapacidad also led to the creation of a legal clinic seeking to improve the fiscal position of people with disabilities and their families.
